Welcome to Southwest Ohio Chapter’s homepage. Here you will find the latest information about chapter activities and members of our chapter.
The Chapter has just under 200 members from all areas of expertise. We hold monthly technical meetings from September to May that are open to anyone who is interested in improving the safety of their workplace. Call for Ideas for the 11th Annual ACI/OSHA Construction Safety Day
Our annual Chapter-Based Professional Development Conference is this year on February 16, 2010 - MARK YOUR CALENDARS! This event is done with the Annual Allied Construction Industries Safety Day and with AIHA. The whole point of this event is to add VALUE TO YOU! We want to give you CEUs. We want you to grow. We want you to get the training you need. We need your help.
Take some time in the next week to think about training that you would love to have at an affordable price. We need IDEAS FROM YOU - to - GIVE YOU VALUE TO WHAT YOU DO! We will work our hardest to give you want you need.

Proposed Chapter Bylaws Update
The Southwestern Ohio Chapter officers have proposed some changes to the current Chapter Bylaws. Please review the attached document as you will be asked to vote to approve or deny the changes in the near future.

2009-10 Region VII Safety Professional of the Year Award Information
Timeline of Events:
- Communicate at the ROC (Requirements, committee members, and time line) – 9.18.09
- Send out SPY information by e-mail to Region VII Chapter Presidents – 9.21.09
- Have SPY information time line & documents posted on Region VII Web page – 9.21.09
- SPY Petition Electronic Submittal Deadline – 1.15.10
- SPY Committee Review Start – 1.18.10
- SPY Committee Review Completed – 2.12.10
- Notification of SPY results to the Recipient, Region, and Society – 2.19.10
- Post Region VII SPY Recipient on the Region VII Website – 2.20.10
- Order/Purchase the SPY statue from Society – 3.15.10
Items to Submit to Region VII SPY Committee:
The nomination, endorsement, and petition forms can be found on the Region VII Website.
- Nomination Form
- Endorsement Form
- Current Job Description and organization chart depicting the safety function.
- Sponsors description of the scope and quality of the nominee’s job related duties and achievements and other safety related activities. (has to be on organization stationery)
- Petition
- Submit one (1) electronic version of the petition to Hal Williams.
- A picture of the candidate is not required for petition submittal to the ROC SPY Committee.
- The Region SPY Recipient is required to submit a picture to both the Region SPY Committee and Society.
- The picture along with a brief bio of the SPY Recipient will be posted on the Region VII web-site.
- Society will use the picture for the PDC program and award during the PDC
